Honey, I Shrunk the Audience! | Extinct Disney World

“Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!” was a 4D theater attraction that was formerly located at multiple Disney theme parks, including Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The attraction was a humorous and immersive show inspired by the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” movie franchise, created by Disney in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The show was a sequel to the original 3D film “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience,” which was a modification of the 3D film “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” that used in-theater effects to enhance the guest experience.

“Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!” followed the misadventures of Professor Wayne Szalinski, portrayed by Rick Moranis in the movies, as he accidentally shrinks the audience down to the size of insects with his latest invention. Guests were invited to join the Szalinski family in a comically chaotic and oversized adventure through the giant-sized world of the laboratory.

The 4D theater show featured a combination of 3D film projection, in-theater special effects, and practical effects to create an immersive and entertaining experience. Guests experienced wind gusts, mist, and vibrations in their seats, adding to the feeling of being shrunk down and immersed in the fantastical world of the movie.

The attraction was known for its humor, family-friendly entertainment, and the whimsical use of 4D effects to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for guests of all ages.

One of its claims to fame was that it is the only Disney World attraction that was replaced by the same attraction it replaced (Captain EO).
