Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure

“Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure” was a former attraction that was once located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The attraction was based on the popular Disney movie franchise “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” which followed the comedic adventures of the Szalinski family and their various size-altering mishaps.

The “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure” opened in 1990 and allowed guests to feel like they were shrunk down to the size of insects, exploring an oversized backyard playground. The attraction was designed to resemble the Szalinski’s backyard from the movie, complete with giant blades of grass, towering ant hills, enormous plants, and oversized play structures.

Guests could wander through the giant set, climbing on larger-than-life objects like blades of grass, a giant ant, a colossal spider web, and a humongous watering can. It was a unique and whimsical experience that made guests feel like they were part of the movie.

The attraction was closed along with the entire Streets of America section in 2016 to make way for the new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge section of the park.
