About Skyway to Tomorrowland

The Skyway to Tomorrowland was a former transportation attraction at Disneyland in California. It operated from 1956 to 1994.

The Skyway was an aerial gondola ride that transported guests from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland and vice versa. The attraction consisted of two separate stations, one located near the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Fantasyland and the other in Tomorrowland near the former location of the Circle-Vision 360° theater.

Guests would board gondolas that were suspended from an overhead cable system, providing them with a bird’s-eye view of the park as they traveled between the two lands. The journey offered panoramic vistas of Disneyland and allowed guests to see attractions from a unique perspective.

The Skyway ride provided a convenient and scenic means of transportation within the park and became a beloved classic attraction during its many years of operation.

However, the Skyway to Tomorrowland closed in 1994 for various reasons, including maintenance costs and changes in safety regulations. The former Skyway stations still exist in the park, but the attraction itself has been permanently discontinued.
