The North Avenue Irregulars (1979 Movie)

“The North Avenue Irregulars” is a comedy film released in 1979 by Walt Disney Productions. Directed by Bruce Bilson, the movie is based on the book “North Avenue Irregulars” by Albert Fay Hill.

The story is set in the small town of North Avenue, where a group of churchwomen, led by Claire (played by Barbara Harris), discovers that their local church has become a front for a gambling operation. Shocked and determined to clean up their town, they decide to take matters into their own hands. The women form a secret group called “The North Avenue Irregulars” to expose and stop the illegal activities happening at their church.
