Disney File Lawsuits Over Disney World Property Tax Assessments

Last Updated on: October 15th, 2023

Disney Revenue Statistics property assessment law suitNews broke this week that Disney is taking Orange County to court over property tax assessments for a number of Disney World properties. Disney is arguing that the 2016 assessments, made by the county in order to calculate property tax owed, were too high and were subject to unjust increases. Some of the properties in question are the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as, a number of Disney World resorts.

This isn’t the first time Disney has sued the county over their assessments and they aren’t the only theme park to be fighting the county. For more background on the law suit, I’d recommend heading over to the Orlando Sentinel’s article that gives a full rundown of the situation.
