It was announced today that Dr. Strange’s big weekend has pushed Disney across the $6 billion global box office mark for 2016. This is the first time in its history that Disney has eclipsed $6 billion and it aint over yet folks.

With Dr. Strange just starting out and almost sure-bet blockbusters Moana and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ready for release before the end of the year, Disney has plenty of box office success left in its tank for the remaining weeks of 2016. It will be interesting to see where they end up.

In case you were wondering, the record is the $6.89 billion Universal earned last year. Totally doable for Disney.

With the huge success of Captain America: Civil War this weekend, Disney has reached some pretty amazing box office milestones already in 2016. In just over 5 months of 2016, Walt Disney Studios has already taken in $3 billion in global box office sales ($1.21 billion domestic and $2.22 billion international).

Disney’s 2016 releases to date include Zootopia, The Jungle Book and Civil War. With a number of blockbusters scheduled for the remainder of the year, including Finding Dory, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Marvel’s Dr. Strange, no doubt 2016 will continue to be a big one for Disney.

Here is a complete listing of the upcoming Disney movies with release dates.
