Smoke From Nearby Brush Fire Impacting Disney World Parks

Last Updated on: May 26th, 2023

If you were in Walt Disney World today (especially Animal Kingdom), you undoubtedly smelled the distinct odor of wood burning. No, Disney isn’t celebrating a new barbecue festival and no, the it isn’t a new scent treatment. Apparently, there is a brush fire very close (just 4 miles) to the southern end of Disney World, which is causing a significant amount of smoke in the parks. The dark plumes of smoke from the 90% contained fire are actually very visible from the parking lot of the Animal Kingdom and some of the surrounding roads.

Here is more info about the Orlando-area fire from the local Fox affiliate, Fox 35.
