“Star Wars: Resistance” is an animated television series set in the Star Wars universe. It aired on Disney Channel and Disney XD from 2018 to 2020. The show was created by Lucasfilm Animation and is part of the official Star Wars canon.
The series is set before and during the events of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” and “Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.” It follows the adventures of Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono (voiced by Christopher Sean), a young New Republic pilot who becomes a spy for the Resistance.
At the beginning of the series, Kaz is recruited by Poe Dameron (voiced by Oscar Isaac) to work as a mechanic on the Colossus, a large refueling station located on the ocean planet of Castilon. Unbeknownst to most of its inhabitants, the Colossus serves as a secret Resistance base, and Kaz’s mission is to gather information on potential threats from the First Order.
As the series progresses, Kaz befriends the colorful and diverse residents of the Colossus, and he becomes entangled in various adventures and conflicts involving the First Order and other factions. Throughout the show, Kaz undergoes personal growth and development, transforming from a somewhat inexperienced and impulsive young pilot into a more capable and mature member of the Resistance.
In addition to Kaz, “Star Wars: Resistance” features a variety of new and returning characters from the Star Wars saga, including familiar faces like Poe Dameron, General Leia Organa (voiced by Carolyn Hennesy), and Captain Phasma (voiced by Gwendoline Christie).
The show is known for its vibrant animation style and action-packed sequences. It explores themes of heroism, friendship, and the struggle against tyranny, all while adding depth and context to the events leading up to “The Force Awakens.”
