Who is Jabba the Hutt?
Jabba the Hutt is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He is a large, slug-like alien and one of the most powerful crime lords in the galaxy. Jabba is first introduced in the original Star Wars trilogy in Episode IV: A New Hope, but becomes a more prominent figure in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
Jabba is known for his massive size and weight, which requires him to be transported on a mobile platform. He is also known for his greed, cruelty, and depravity, as well as his penchant for exotic creatures and enslaved individuals. He operates his criminal empire from his palace on the desert planet of Tatooine and is feared and respected by many in the underworld.
Jabba is a major antagonist in Return of the Jedi, where he holds the character Han Solo captive and tries to have him killed. He is ultimately killed in a confrontation with the character Princess Leia Organa, who strangles him with the chain he had previously used to restrain her.
The character was played by voiced by Larry Ward.
