George “Georgie” Russell is a fictional character from the Disney miniseries Davy Crockett. He is a friend and companion of the series’ main character, Davy Crockett, and is portrayed by actor Buddy Ebsen. He is a skilled woodsman and hunter, and joins Crockett on his adventures in the American frontier, including the Battle of the Alamo. The miniseries originally aired in the 1950s and was a popular depiction of the historical figure Davy Crockett, who was a real-life 19th-century frontiersman, soldier, and politician.
