Who is Lanny?
Lanny is the wide-eyed rookie elf paired with veteran operative Wayne in Disney’s animated holiday special Prep & Landing.
He serves on Santa’s elite “prep and landing” team that goes in ahead of the sleigh to ready each home for a perfect Christmas Eve touchdown. Lanny is eager, rule-following, and endlessly enthusiastic—his call sign is “Tree Skirt,” and he’s fond of exclaiming, “This is sooo tinsel!”
According to Disney’s official character notes, he graduated at the top of his class at the Kringle Academy and was involved in caroling, the yearbook committee, and even curling before joining the unit.
Lanny co-stars with Wayne not only in the original 2009 special, but also in the mini-sequel Operation: Secret Santa (2010) and the follow-up Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice (2011).
He is voiced by actor Derek Richardson, whose performance captures Lanny’s boundless cheer and rookie optimism across the specials.
