Who is Olga Solís?
Olga Solís is a key supporting character (the tritagonist) in Pixar’s 2025 animated film Elio. She’s the aunt of the protagonist, Elio Solís, and holds the rank of Major in the United States Air Force. Though she once had dreams of becoming an astronaut, she devoted her life to raising her orphaned nephew and leading a classified military project, ultimately acting as his protector and grounding presence on Earth .
Olga Solís is voiced by Zoe Saldaña, who was cast in August 2024 after the character’s original conception changed from mother to aunt. The initial voice actor, America Ferrera, departed due to scheduling conflicts. Saldaña’s performance brings nuance to Olga—a strong, imperfect guardian—capturing both her devotion to Elio and her internal struggles.
