Who is Wayne?
Wayne is the veteran field operative at the heart of Disney’s holiday special Prep & Landing (2009). He works in an elite North Pole unit that “preps” homes so Santa can land safely—a mission he’s carried out for centuries with precision and pride.
Expecting a promotion, Wayne instead gets paired with a rookie, Lanny, and must rediscover his purpose during a snow-threatened Christmas Eve operation. The character returns in the short Operation: Secret Santa (2010) and the sequel Naughty vs. Nice (2011).
Wayne is voiced by Dave Foley (of The Kids in the Hall and the voice of Flik in A Bug’s Life). Foley is credited as the lead in the original special and reprises the role in the follow-ups, giving Wayne a dry, world-weary charm that softens into warmth. Notable co-stars around him include Derek Richardson as eager partner Lanny, Sarah Chalke as mission coordinator Magee, and W. Morgan Sheppard as Santa.
