Casey Junior (Dumbo)
Last Updated on: February 20th, 2023
Who is Casey Junior?
Casey Junior is the anthropomorphic train engine from Disney’s animated film Dumbo (1941). He is the cheerful, hardworking little train that transports the circus animals, including Dumbo, from one town to another.
Casey Junior’s character is known for his optimism and resilience, particularly highlighted in the memorable scene where he encourages himself to climb a steep hill with the refrain, “I think I can, I think I can.” His spirited personality and perseverance make him an endearing part of Dumbo’s journey and the story overall.
In the original Dumbo film, Casey Junior is voiced by the uncredited actor Margaret Wright, who provided the character’s distinctive, high-energy voice and gave him a childlike quality that complemented his optimistic spirit. Casey Junior also appears in other Disney media, including the theme park attraction Casey Jr. Circus Train at Disneyland, where he continues to represent resilience, playfulness, and the enduring charm of Disney’s classic characters.
