Who is Frou-Frou?

Frou-Frou is a charming and spirited horse from Disney’s The Aristocats, which was released in 1970. She is a lively character who provides support and companionship to the main feline protagonists, particularly when Madame Bonfamille’s kidnapped cats, Duchess and her three kittens, Toulouse, Berlioz, and Marie, find themselves in need of assistance.

Frou-Frou the aristocats

Frou-Frou is housed at Madame Bonfamille’s mansion and shares her home with the eccentric English geese Abigail and Amelia Gabble, as well as the cats. As an old-fashioned, animated horse, she’s depicted wearing a fancy harness adorned with colorful ribbons, which emphasizes her playful and affectionate personality.

In the story, Frou-Frou helps the cats escape from the clutches of the film’s villain, Edgar, the greedy butler, who wants to get rid of them to inherit Madame’s fortune. Frou-Frou teams up with Roquefort the mouse to thwart Edgar’s plans, proving herself a loyal friend and protector. Her personality shines through her distinct voice, brought to life by actress Nancy Kulp.
