Who is Winnie Sanderson?
Winifred “Winnie” Sanderson is a fictional character from the 1993 Disney film “Hocus Pocus.” She is the eldest of three witch sisters, alongside Mary and Sarah Sanderson. She is known for her seductive and manipulative personality and her obsession with youth and immortality. She is portrayed by actress Bette Midler in the film.
Winnie and her sisters were hanged in the 17th century but were brought back to life by a curious teenager in the 20th century, they then proceed to try to suck the life force out of children to become immortal. The character of Winnie Sanderson has become a cult classic and is known for her iconic appearance, her comedic timing and her singing performance in the film.
