Series Description:
“Dragons of Wonderhatch” is a Japanese fantasy series that seamlessly blends live-action and anime to craft a unique narrative experience. The story follows Nagi, a high school girl in the real world who perceives colors when she hears sounds—a condition known as synesthesia. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Thaim, a boy from the fantastical realm of Upananta, where dragons are not only real but also rideable companions.
Directed by Kentaro Hagiwara for live-action segments and Takashi Otsuka for animated portions, the series showcases the collaborative efforts of Production I.G, renowned for works like “Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045.” The character designs and concept art are the creations of Posuka Demizu, known for “The Promised Neverland,” adding a distinctive visual flair to the series.
Premiering on December 20, 2023, “Dragons of Wonderhatch” is available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, with new episodes released weekly. The series comprises eight episodes, each with a runtime of approximately 45 minutes.
