Who is Austin Moon?
Austin Moon is a central character in the Disney Channel series “Austin & Ally.” Portrayed by Ross Lynch, Austin is an outgoing and talented singer and dancer who becomes an overnight internet sensation after uploading a video of himself performing “Double Take,” a song he inadvertently took from Ally Dawson.
Following this unexpected rise to fame, Austin partners with Ally, a gifted songwriter with stage fright, to create more music. Their collaboration, with Ally writing songs and Austin performing them, forms the foundation of the series. Throughout the show, Austin is depicted as friendly, somewhat naive, and occasionally childish, with a penchant for stuffed animals and pancakes. Despite his aversion to rules, he is deeply loyal to his friends and consistently strives to support them.
Austin’s best friends include Dez Wade, his loyal and quirky friend who directs his music videos, and Trish De la Rosa, who serves as his manager. His parents, Mimi and Mike Moon, own Moon’s Mattress Kingdom. A recurring theme in the series is Austin’s aspiration to perform in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, a dream he ultimately realizes with the help of his friends.
