Who is Beta?

Beta is one of the three main dogs in Up, the 2009 Disney-Pixar animated film. He is a Rottweiler and a member of Charles Muntz’s pack of loyal dogs, all of whom wear high-tech collars that allow them to speak human language.

Beta serves as a subordinate to Alpha, the leader of the dog pack, and typically follows his commands. Like the other dogs, Beta is involved in Muntz’s efforts to capture the exotic bird, Kevin.

Beta, along with the other dogs, provides comic relief in the film. Although he is loyal to Alpha, Beta has his own personality quirks and interacts humorously with Dug, the lovable Golden Retriever who becomes an ally to the main characters Carl and Russell.

In Up, Beta is voiced by Delroy Lindo, an actor known for his roles in films such as Malcolm X and The Cider House Rules.
