Who is Calvin?

Calvin O’Keefe is a key character in A Wrinkle in Time, a classic science fantasy novel by Madeleine L’Engle. Calvin is a high school athlete and one of the popular kids, but he feels misunderstood and out of place due to his complex family dynamics and personal struggles.

Despite his popularity, Calvin is compassionate and sensitive, which makes him an ally to Meg Murry, the protagonist, and her younger brother, Charles Wallace.

In the story, Calvin joins Meg and Charles Wallace on a journey through space and time to rescue Meg’s father, who is trapped by an evil entity known as IT. Calvin’s courage, kindness, and growing connection with Meg add depth to the trio’s adventures, as he becomes a trusted friend and confidant for her.

In the 2018 Disney adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, Calvin is portrayed by actor Levi Miller.
