Who is Captain Farragut?

Captain Farragut is a character from Disney’s adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, based on the classic novel by Jules Verne.

In the story, Captain Farragut is the commanding officer of the ship Abraham Lincoln, sent by the U.S. government to investigate reports of a mysterious sea creature attacking ships. Farragut is a resolute and duty-bound leader, determined to protect his crew and solve the mystery of the seas. He represents traditional naval bravery, facing the unknown with courage and a sense of duty to his mission.

In Disney’s 1954 film adaptation, Captain Farragut is portrayed by actor Ted de Corsia.
