Who is Chatter Telephone?
Chatter Telephone is a character from the Toy Story franchise, first introduced in Toy Story 3.
Modeled after the classic Fisher-Price toy from the 1960s, Chatter Telephone has a rotary dial, wheels, and a distinctive face with eyes that move up and down. In the film, he’s depicted as a “veteran toy” with knowledge of the inner workings of Sunnyside Daycare, where Woody and the gang find themselves.
Chatter Telephone is known for his cryptic but wise advice, often cautioning Woody about the dangers within Sunnyside and helping him plan an escape. He’s portrayed as experienced and cautious, having spent years in the daycare and learning the rules of survival there.
Chatter Telephone is voiced by actor Teddy Newton in Toy Story 3. Newton’s voice gives Chatter Telephone a raspy, worn tone that adds to the character’s experienced, somewhat weary personality, making him memorable despite his limited screen time.
