Who is James Henry Trotter?

James Henry Trotter is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Roald Dahl’s children novel “James and the Giant Peach.” He is a young orphan who lives with his abusive aunts Spiker and Sponge. He discovers a magical potion that causes a giant peach to grow in his backyard and embarks on a journey with a group of anthropomorphic insects he met inside the peach. The novel was first published in 1961 and tells a story of James’s adventures, his friendship with the insects, and his encounter with the aunts and the other obstacles he faced during his journey. The novel has been adapted into various media such as movies, musicals, and animations. The character was played by Paul Terry.
