Who is Jason Gray?
Jason Gray is a supporting character in Disney Channel’s Camp Rock franchise. He is one third of the pop-rock band Connect 3, alongside his brothers Shane Gray and Nate Gray.
Within the story, Jason is the band’s easygoing, slightly spacey lead guitarist and backing vocalist. He is known for his goofy, offbeat comments and for being a bit distracted compared to his more intense brothers. A recurring gag in the first film is his unexpected fascination with birdhouses, which reinforces his quirky, almost childlike personality. Despite the comedy, Jason is loyal to his brothers and ultimately supportive of the campers at Camp Rock.
Jason Gray appears in both Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). In the sequel, he takes on more responsibility at camp, working with the younger “Junior Rockers” and gradually growing into a more mature mentor role while still providing comic relief.
The character Jason Gray is played by Kevin Jonas, the eldest member of the Jonas Brothers. In real life, Kevin Jonas is a guitarist and singer for the band, which parallels Jason’s role as the guitarist of Connect 3 in the films.
