Who is Jeb the Goat?
Jeb the Goat is a memorable character from Disney’s animated film Home on the Range, released in 2004.
Known for his quirky and slightly neurotic personality, Jeb provides comic relief throughout the movie. He’s a cranky old goat living on the Patch of Heaven dairy farm, where he interacts with the film’s main characters—three determined cows, Maggie, Grace, and Mrs. Calloway, who embark on a mission to save their farm from foreclosure. Jeb is a bit of a pessimist and prone to paranoia, often fearing the worst in any situation. His cantankerous nature and pessimistic outlook bring humor and a touch of cynicism, contrasting with the more hopeful attitudes of the other animals. Despite his grumpy exterior, Jeb cares about his home and the other animals on the farm, showing a softer side by the end of the film.
The character of Jeb is voiced by Joe Flaherty, an actor and comedian known for his work on SCTV and Freaks and Geeks.
