Who is Karen Graves?

Karen Graves is a minor character in Monsters University, the prequel to Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., which explores the college years of iconic characters Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan.

Karen serves as Mike’s elementary school teacher, who appears briefly but plays a significant role in setting up his story arc. As Mike’s supportive but realistic teacher, Karen encourages him and his classmates on a school field trip to Monsters, Inc., explaining the importance of becoming a “scarer” — a monster who collects children’s screams as an energy source.
