Who is Meg?
Meg Murry is the central protagonist of A Wrinkle in Time, a classic science fiction and fantasy novel written by Madeleine L’Engle.
Meg is a brilliant but awkward teenager struggling with self-doubt and a feeling of not fitting in. Her character is defined by her strong sense of loyalty, love for her family, and her fiery temper, which often leads her into trouble. Meg’s journey begins when she sets out to find her missing father, a scientist who vanished while working on a secretive project involving time and space travel. Alongside her younger brother, Charles Wallace, and her friend, Calvin O’Keefe, Meg encounters celestial beings known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who. They guide her through a journey across dimensions to confront an evil entity known as IT and save her father. Throughout her adventure, Meg discovers her own inner strength, resilience, and the power of love.
In the 2003 television adaptation, Meg was portrayed by Katie Stuart. In the 2018 Disney film adaptation, the character was reimagined and played by Storm Reid.
