Who is Melvin?

Melvin is a minor yet memorable character in Disney’s 2005 animated film Chicken Little. He is a giraffe and one of the background inhabitants of the town of Oakey Oaks, the setting of the movie.

Although Melvin doesn’t have a significant role in the central storyline, he is one of the quirky animal residents who adds to the film’s humor and charm.

The character appears during the movie’s comedic and chaotic scenes, contributing to the town’s reaction to Chicken Little’s antics, particularly the famous “sky is falling” scenario. Melvin’s exaggerated height, characteristic of a giraffe, is humorously depicted in contrast to the other animals in the town, making him stand out visually in crowd scenes.

Melvin was voiced by actor and comedian Patrick Warburton, known for his distinctively deep and comedic voice. Warburton is celebrated for lending his voice to several iconic animated characters, such as Kronk in Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove and Joe Swanson in Family Guy.
