Who is Michael McBride?
Michael McBride is a fictional character from the Disney live-action film “Darby O’Gill and the Little People” (1959) He is the protagonist of the story, and is the son of Darby O’Gill, a friendly and hardworking old Irishman who lives in a small village in Ireland. Michael is a young man who becomes the new caretaker of Lord Fitzpatrick’s estate, and is tasked with getting rid of the leprechauns and fairies that live in the nearby hills. He is initially skeptical of his father’s stories about the little people, but eventually comes to believe in them and even befriends the leprechaun king Brian Connors. The character was played by 007 himself, Sean Connery.
