Who is Mr. Murry?

Mr. Murry is a pivotal character in A Wrinkle in Time, the beloved science fantasy novel by Madeleine L’Engle. He is the father of the protagonist, Meg Murry, and her gifted younger brother, Charles Wallace.

A brilliant physicist, Mr. Murry works on a classified government project involving tesseracts, a concept of fifth-dimensional travel that enables individuals to “wrinkle” space-time. His groundbreaking experiments lead to his accidental imprisonment on the dark planet Camazotz, controlled by the malevolent entity known as IT. This sets the stage for Meg and her companions to embark on a daring rescue mission, which ultimately becomes a journey of self-discovery and the triumph of love over fear.

In the 2018 Disney film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, Mr. Murry is portrayed by Chris Pine.
