Who is Ned Land?
Ned Land is a character in the 1954 Disney live-action film “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” He is a sailor and harpooner who joins Captain Nemo on his underwater adventures aboard the Nautilus. Ned is depicted as a rough and tough seaman who is often at odds with Captain Nemo and his unorthodox ways. Despite his initial reservations about the voyage, Ned ultimately forms a friendship with Captain Nemo and helps him save the Nautilus from danger. The character of Ned Land was played by Kirk Douglas in the film.
