Who is Pico?
Pico is a minor but memorable character from Disney’s Encanto. He is a cheerful, vibrant toucan who serves as a companion to Antonio Madrigal, the youngest member of the magical Madrigal family.
Antonio, whose gift is the ability to communicate with animals, shares a special bond with Pico, who reflects the exuberance and wonder of the natural world surrounding the Madrigal family’s enchanted home.
Pico’s bright plumage and playful nature make him stand out among Antonio’s animal friends. He is often seen flitting about, chirping excitedly, and interacting with Antonio and the other creatures in the magical rainforest environment. While Pico does not have spoken lines, his animated expressions and the sound effects used to convey his personality add warmth and humor to the story.
Pico was brought to life by sound designer Alan Tudyk, a veteran Disney collaborator. Tudyk, known for voicing numerous iconic Disney characters, provided the bird sounds for Pico.
