Who is Professor Philip Brainard?
Professor Philip Brainard is a fictional character played by Robin Williams in the 1997 Disney comedy movie “Flubber.” In the film, Professor Brainard is a scatterbrained but brilliant physicist who is so consumed with his work that he forgets important things in his life, including his wedding to his fiancée, Sara Jean Reynolds. He invents a green, gooey substance called “Flubber” which has incredible properties, including the ability to fly and to enhance physical abilities. The film follows Brainard’s attempts to save his college from bankruptcy using his discovery, while also trying to win back Sara’s affection.
