Roman Russo is a central character in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the 2024 sequel to the beloved Disney Channel series. Portrayed by Alkaio Thiele, Roman is the eldest son of Justin Russo (David Henrie) and Giada Russo (Mimi Gianopulos), and the older brother of Milo Russo.
Roman is characterized as a diligent student and a rule-follower, often striving to live up to his father’s legacy. He attends Greenwald Middle School, where he juggles multiple roles: student, Spanish tutor, and reporter for the school newspaper. Despite his non-magical status, Roman frequently finds himself entangled in magical escapades, especially alongside his best friend, Winter, and the young wizard-in-training, Billie.
Alkaio Thiele, who brings Roman to life on screen, is a young actor and singer. Prior to this role, he voiced Peter Parker in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Thiele has expressed enthusiasm for portraying Roman, highlighting the character’s complexity and growth throughout the series.
