Who is Sir Pellinore?
Sir Pellinore is a character from Disney’s animated feature film The Sword in the Stone (1963). He is a comical, kind-hearted, and somewhat bumbling knight who is part of the court in the story.
Pellinore’s role is relatively minor but memorable; he provides lighthearted moments and helps set the tone of the film with his eccentric personality.
Pellinore is depicted as a loyal knight who deeply respects King Uther and the traditions of Camelot. He becomes a judge during the tournament to determine the next king of England, an event that leads to the discovery of Arthur’s destiny as the rightful ruler. Sir Pellinore’s character adds an element of medieval charm and humor to the film, contrasting with the more serious events surrounding Arthur’s rise to the throne.
In the film, Sir Pellinore is voiced by Alan Napier, a distinguished English actor known for his deep voice and theatrical career. Napier is also famously recognized for his role as Alfred, the butler, in the 1960s Batman television series.
