Who is Tipo?

Tipo is a minor yet memorable character from Disney’s animated film The Emperor’s New Groove (2000). He is the young, energetic son of Pacha and Chicha and the brother of Chaca and Yupi.

Tipo (The Emperor’s New Groove)

Tipo is characterized by his playful and mischievous personality, often getting into humorous situations with his sister Chaca. Together, they form a charming duo that adds a layer of light-heartedness and familial warmth to the story. Tipo’s dialogue and antics showcase his youthful innocence and highlight the love within Pacha’s family, which serves as a contrast to the selfish and comically self-absorbed Kuzco.

Though Tipo has a small role, he contributes to the film’s overarching themes of friendship, community, and humility. His family plays a pivotal role in assisting Kuzco in his transformation—both literally as he tries to reclaim his throne and metaphorically as he learns the value of compassion and connection.

Tipo was voiced by Eli Russell Linnetz, a young actor at the time. Linnetz’s vibrant and natural voice brought an authentic charm to the character, making him a memorable part of the The Emperor’s New Groove ensemble.
