“Shipwrecked” is a Disney adventure film released in 1990. Directed by Nils Gaup, the movie is based on the true story of the Norwegian adventurer and explorer, Haakon Haakonsen.

The film follows the story of a young Norwegian boy named Haakon Haakonsen, portrayed by Stian Smestad, who dreams of becoming a sailor like his father. Haakon’s life takes an unexpected turn when his father is killed at sea, leaving him devastated and determined to carry on his father’s legacy.

As fate would have it, Haakon gets an opportunity to set sail on a merchant ship, the “Harald,” as a cabin boy. However, things take a dangerous turn when the ship is captured by pirates led by Merrick, played by Gabriel Byrne. The pirates discover a valuable cargo of gold and diamonds on board and decide to strand the crew on a remote island, leaving them for dead.

Haakon, along with a few other survivors, manages to escape and find refuge on a deserted island. With his survival skills and determination, Haakon takes charge and leads the group in building a new life on the island. They must learn to work together, overcome challenges, and find a way to signal for help and return home.

As time goes on, Haakon discovers that the pirates have returned to search for the hidden treasure. With the help of a mysterious island inhabitant, Mary, played by Trond Peter Stamsø Munch, Haakon and his friends must defend themselves against the pirates and protect the treasure from falling into the wrong hands.
