Those Calloways (1965 Movie)

“Those Calloways” is a 1965 family drama film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The movie is based on the novel “Swiftwater” by Paul Annixter.

The story revolves around the Calloway family, led by Cam Calloway (played by Brian Keith), who lives in a small town in Vermont. Cam is an avid hunter who has a dream of preserving the local wildlife by creating a wildlife sanctuary. He hopes to protect the animals from being hunted and preserve their natural habitat.

However, the town is divided over the idea, with some supporting Cam’s vision, while others, including the local mill owner, are against it. The film follows Cam’s struggle to gain support from the community and overcome the challenges he faces in his quest to create the sanctuary.

In the midst of this, Cam’s son, Bucky Calloway (played by Brandon deWilde), is coming of age and faces his own set of challenges. He falls in love with the daughter of the mill owner, which further complicates the situation.
