During an outbreak of diphtheria in Nome, a remote town in Alaska, a diphtheria antitoxin serum was urgently needed to save lives. However, the town was inaccessible by air due to harsh weather conditions. Leonhard Seppala and his lead dog Togo, despite being considered too old and frail, undertook an incredible 260-mile journey in treacherous conditions to deliver the life-saving serum to Nome.
The movie showcases the bond between Togo and Seppala, their determination, and the resilience of the sled dog team. It highlights the courage and heroism of both humans and animals who faced incredible challenges to save lives.
