Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” has achieved remarkable success on Disney+, amassing over 19 million views worldwide within its first six days of streaming.
This milestone marks the highest viewership for a live-action film on the platform since “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” The film’s debut on November 12, 2024, also set a new record for Hulu, doubling the previous live-action viewership figures.
Prior to its streaming release, “Deadpool & Wolverine” dominated the box office, earning $636.7 million domestically and $1.33 billion globally, making it the second highest-grossing film of 2024, just behind Pixar’s “Inside Out 2.” The film also became the highest-grossing R-rated title in its first week on U.S. digital platforms, surpassing “John Wick: Chapter 4.”
Critically acclaimed, the film received an A CinemaScore and a 95% fresh audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Its success has bolstered Disney’s streaming platform, contributing to a 2% increase in domestic Disney+ subscribers and a 5% rise internationally. CEO Bob Iger noted that successful film releases like “Deadpool & Wolverine” lead to significant spikes in viewership for related content on Disney+.
