Disney Lakeshore Lodge: A New Nature-Inspired DVC Resort Opening at Walt Disney World in 2027

Disney has officially announced the development of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort set to open in 2027 at Walt Disney World Resort. This resort will occupy the site initially designated for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, a project that was shelved in 2020.
Situated along the shores of Bay Lake, between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will draw inspiration from the majesty of nature and its influence on Disney artists. The resort aims to blend rustic elegance with imaginative storytelling, offering guests a serene retreat immersed in natural beauty.
The original Reflections project, announced in 2018, was planned as a deluxe nature-themed resort featuring over 900 hotel rooms and DVC villas. However, construction was halted amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the project was subsequently canceled.
The announcement of Disney Lakeshore Lodge comes after a new agreement between the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and Disney, allowing the company to build more than 53,000 new hotel rooms as part of a proposed $17 billion investment.
As development progresses, Disney is expected to release more details about the resort’s amenities, accommodations, and unique features. Guests and DVC members can look forward to a new destination that celebrates the harmony between nature and Disney’s storytelling magic.
