Published on 11/14/24 by Craig Smith
Disney+ has achieved a significant milestone, adding over 4.4 million subscribers in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2024, bringing its global total to 158.6 million.
This growth includes an increase of more than a million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada, reaching 56 million, and approximately three million new international subscribers. Disney CEO Bob Iger attributed this success to strategic efforts enhancing quality, innovation, and efficiency across the company’s streaming platforms.
The rise in subscribers has also contributed to improved profitability in Disney’s streaming business, which reported an operating income of $321 million in the quarter, up from $47 million the previous quarter. This growth underscores Disney+’s expanding global footprint and its competitive position in the streaming industry.
