“Inside the NBA” to Transition to ESPN and ABC in 2025
Published on 11/19/24 by Craig Smith
In a landmark agreement, ESPN and TNT Sports have announced that the acclaimed “Inside the NBA” studio show will move to ESPN and ABC platforms starting with the 2025-26 NBA season. This transition aligns with ESPN’s new 11-year media rights extension with the NBA, set to commence that season. Despite the change in broadcast platforms, TNT Sports will continue to produce the show from its Atlanta studios, ensuring the program’s signature style and chemistry remain intact.
The “Inside the NBA” team—Ernie Johnson Jr., Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal—will provide coverage for high-profile events, including the NBA Finals, Conference Finals, Playoffs, and select regular-season games. This collaboration follows Warner Bros. Discovery’s settlement with the NBA after a legal dispute over media rights, allowing the show to continue entertaining fans on new platforms.
Additionally, as part of this partnership, TNT Sports will broadcast an exclusive slate of Big 12 football and men’s basketball games beginning in 2025, further expanding its sports coverage.
This strategic move underscores ESPN’s commitment to delivering premier NBA content and ensures that “Inside the NBA” continues to engage audiences with its unique blend of analysis and entertainment.
