Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Set to Premiere in 2025 with Stunning Japanese Anime Collaboration

Disney and Lucasfilm have officially announced that “Star Wars: Visions” will return for a third volume in 2025. This animated anthology series, known for its unique cultural interpretations of the Star Wars universe, will feature nine new shorts from eight renowned Japanese anime studios.
The participating studios include David Production, Kamikaze Douga, ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio.
“Star Wars: Visions” debuted in 2021, offering non-canon animated shorts that allowed creators to explore imaginative narratives within the Star Wars galaxy.
The first volume, released in September 2021, received critical acclaim, boasting a 98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The second volume, which premiered in May 2023, expanded its creative horizons by collaborating with international studios from the UK, Spain, Ireland, Chile, South Korea, France, India, Japan, the US, and South Africa/Ireland. This installment also garnered praise, achieving a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The upcoming third volume marks a return to Japanese animation, highlighting the diversity and creativity inherent in the country’s anime industry. Fans can anticipate fresh and innovative storytelling that continues to celebrate the rich mythology of Star Wars through distinct cultural lenses.
