Ayla & The Mirrors is a Spanish-language Disney+ original series that premiered on September 27, 2024.
The narrative centers on Ayla, a wealthy and spoiled teenager who, after the sudden death of her father, experiences traumatic shock resulting in amnesia. With no family to claim her, she is placed in El Bosque, a shelter where she meets Inés, her new roommate, and “The Mirrors,” a passionate dance group. Through her interactions with them, Ayla discovers a unique ability: perceiving others’ emotions through musical visions. Meanwhile, her aunt Esmeralda monitors her closely, concerned that Ayla may jeopardize her newly inherited fortune. The series explores themes of identity, resilience, and the transformative power of art, blending drama, comedy, and dance in a coming-of-age story. Directed by Javier Pulido, Ana Vázquez, and María Pulido, and written by Ada Hernández, the show features performances by Violeta Madel as Ayla, Daniela Monter as Sofía, and Cristian López in a supporting role.
