Synduality: Noir

“Synduality: Noir” is a Japanese anime series set in a post-apocalyptic future, available for streaming on Disney+. The narrative unfolds in the year 2242, a century after humanity retreated underground to escape a catastrophic event known as the “Tears of the New Moon,” during which deadly Blueschist poison rained from the sky. Emerging back to the Earth’s surface, survivors establish settlements called “Nests” and coexist with AI humanoids known as Magus.

The story centers on Kanata, a young man aspiring to become a Drifter—adventurers who explore the surface and combat hostile creatures called Enders. During an expedition to ancient ruins with the seasoned Drifter Tokio, Kanata discovers Noir, a Magus who has lost her memories. Despite her amnesia, Noir exhibits exceptional combat abilities against the Enders. Kanata partners with her, embarking on a journey to uncover her past and realize his ambitions as a Drifter.
