Series Description:
“The Unstoppable Yellow Yeti” is an animated comedy series created by Anttu Harlin and Joonas Utti. The show follows 12-year-old surfer Osmo, who relocates with his father to Winterton, a fictional village north of the Arctic Circle where it snows year-round. There, Osmo and his cousin Rita befriend Gustav, a vibrant yellow yeti. Despite the village’s strict no-monster policy, the trio embarks on various adventures, often requiring Gustav to don disguises to evade Rita’s father, Mayor Chrome, a staunch monster adversary.
The series is rich in Finnish cultural elements, showcasing traditions like ice-swimming, May Day celebrations, and crayfish parties. It also introduces unique local delicacies, such as a fast-food treat from Lappeenranta, enhancing its cultural authenticity.
Produced collaboratively by Gigglebug Entertainment and Zodiak Kids Studio France, with participation from Disney Channel and YLE, the show represents Disney’s first original program from Finland. The inaugural season, comprising 25 episodes, premiered on Disney Channel in France on May 14, 2022, and was subsequently released in Finland on Yle Areena on July 1, 2022.
