Who is Atka?
Atka is a character in the Disney animated film “Brother Bear” (2003). He is a grizzly bear and the elder brother of Kenai, the main protagonist of the film. Atka is initially seen as a fierce and aggressive bear who is intent on avenging the death of his younger brother. But as the film progresses, Kenai learns to understand and appreciate Atka’s pain, and the two of them eventually reconcile. Atka is also a wise and respected leader among the other bears in the film. He is also known for his healing powers and his ability to communicate with the spirits of the animals. He is voiced by actor Michael Clarke Duncan and is shown to be a kind and wise leader among the bears, guiding Kenai through his journey to understand bears.
