Who is Atropos?

Atropos is one of the three Fates in Disney’s animated film Hercules, released in 1997.

The Fates, also known as the Moirai in Greek mythology, are a trio of ancient deities who control the destinies of both gods and mortals. Atropos is specifically the Fate responsible for cutting the thread of life, symbolizing the end of a person’s existence.

In the movie, Atropos, along with her sisters Lachesis and Clotho, serves as a minor antagonist and provides crucial information to Hades about how he can potentially defeat Hercules. The Fates can see the past, present, and future, making them key figures in the unfolding events.

Atropos is voiced by Carole Shelley, a British actress known for her work in both film and theater.
