Who is BURN-E?

BURN-E is a minor but memorable character in Pixar’s animated film WALL-E (2008). He’s a repair robot on the spaceship Axiom, where the main action of WALL-E takes place.

BURN-E stands for “Basic Utility Repair Nano Engineer” and is designed to fix external parts of the ship, like lights and panels. During the events of WALL-E, BURN-E finds himself repeatedly thwarted in his repair tasks due to the antics of WALL-E and EVE, leading to comedic frustrations.

BURN-E’s story was popular enough that Pixar created a short film, also titled BURN-E, which is included in the home release of WALL-E. This short follows BURN-E’s perspective as he tries to complete his repair job amid all the chaos caused by WALL-E and EVE’s adventure.
